This Privacy Policy describes how Sheridan Media, Inc., operating as MarketplaceML ("MarketplaceML," "we," "us," "our"), collects, uses, discloses, and protects information collected through marketplaceml.com and the publisher properties we operate as part of the MarketplaceML network (collectively, the "Network").
Sheridan Media, Inc. is an Alabama-incorporated corporation. MarketplaceML is the operating brand under which Sheridan Media, Inc. provides the services described in this Policy. 2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide directly
- Contact information — name, email, phone number, mailing address
- Demographic information — date of birth, household composition where vertically relevant
- Vertical-specific information — when you submit a lead form for a specific decision (e.g., comparing auto insurance), we collect information relevant to that decision (e.g., vehicle, prior coverage, driving record posture)
- Consent metadata — timestamp, IP address, user agent, page URL, and consent language version at the moment of submission
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Usage and device data — IP address (truncated where lawfully possible), browser type and version, OS, referring URL, pages visited, timestamps

- TrustedForm certificate identifier — issued by ActiveProspect on lead form submission
3. How we use information
- To deliver your submitted information to advertisers we have matched to your stated need, geography, and demographic eligibility (the core purpose of the Network)
- To verify consent posture and maintain compliance records for TCPA, CAN-SPAM, FCC, and state-law purposes
- To operate, maintain, and secure the properties in our Network
- To measure traffic, engagement, and content performance
- To honor data-subject rights requests and opt-out instructions
- To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests
4. With whom we share information
4.1 Delivery partners (advertisers)
The core purpose of submitting a lead form on our Network is delivery to advertisers. We share the information you submit with the advertisers we've matched to your stated need. Named advertiser categories are maintained at /partners. Specific named advertisers are disclosed to you at the form-submission step alongside the consent language.
4.2 Service providers (sub-processors)
We engage service providers to operate the Network, including: hosting infrastructure providers, lead validation services, the TrustedForm consent capture service (ActiveProspect), transactional email service, and analytics. These providers receive only the information they need to perform their function and are bound by contractual data-protection obligations.
4.3 Legal disclosures
We disclose information when required by law, subpoena, court order, or other legal process, and to investigate or respond to actual or suspected violations of our terms, fraud, security incidents, or threats to safety.
4.4 Business transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred subject to standard confidentiality protections and continuation of this Privacy Policy or successor of equivalent protection.
4.5 What we do not do
We do not sell consumer contact information to data brokers or list compilers outside the named delivery-partner workflow described above. We do not share consumer information with third-party advertisers other than as described.
5. Your rights and choices
5.1 Opt out of marketing communications
Reply STOP to any text, click unsubscribe in any email, or contact us at privacy@marketplaceml.com. Opt-outs are honored network-wide and propagated to all named delivery partners within ten business days.
5.2 California (CCPA / CPRA)
California residents have the right to know, right to delete, right to correct, right to limit use of sensitive personal information, right to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" as defined under California law, and right of non-discrimination. Submit requests at /do-not-sell.
5.3 Other comprehensive state privacy laws
Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws in effect (Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and others) have equivalent rights including access, deletion, correction, and opt-out of targeted advertising and profiling. Submit requests through the same intake at /do-not-sell.
5.4 European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Switzerland
Residents of these jurisdictions have GDPR data-subject rights: access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, portability, objection, and rights related to automated decision-making. Contact our Data Protection Officer at dpo@marketplaceml.com.
5.5 California "Shine the Light"
California residents may request information regarding the disclosure of personal information to third parties for direct marketing purposes once per year. Submit requests to privacy@marketplaceml.com with the subject "Shine the Light Request."
5.6 Identity verification
We will verify your identity before fulfilling a request, typically by matching information you submit against records in our possession. Authorized agents may submit requests on your behalf with documented authority.
6. Retention
We retain consumer contact information and consent metadata for at least four years from the date of submission to meet recordkeeping obligations under the TCPA and applicable state laws. Some categories of information may be retained longer where required by law (e.g., financial records, fraud investigation records). We delete or de-identify information when retention is no longer required.
7. Security
We implement technical, administrative, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. Our security practices are described at /security. No security measure is perfect; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
The Network is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has submitted information through the Network, contact us at privacy@marketplaceml.com and we will delete it.
9. International transfers
MarketplaceML is established in the United States. If you access the Network from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the Network, you consent to this transfer.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes are noted at the top of this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Network after a material change constitutes acceptance.
